Line-up

Dromos’ Winter Edition continues with two free-admission events dedicated to the encounter between contemporary musical research and one of Sardinia’s oldest and most evocative vocal traditions. On Saturday, December 5, at 7 PM, in the Church of the Beata Vergine delle Grazie in Masullas, and on Sunday, December 6, at the same time, in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cabras, Dutch cellist Ernst Reijseger and the Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei present The Face of God, a project that interweaves improvisation, sacred repertoire, and sound experimentation.

The program brings together songs from the Sardinian religious tradition alongside compositions that Reijseger wrote for the films of Werner Herzog, a director with whom the musician has developed an intense and enduring artistic partnership. Two seemingly distant musical universes meet in a dialogue of great expressive intensity: on one side, the deep and unpredictable sound of the cello, on the other, the harmonies and vocal layering of the singers of Orosei.

The spiritual dimension of the repertoire finds in the churches hosting the concerts a particularly meaningful space, where music becomes an experience of listening, reflection, and sharing. In this encounter, tradition is not a static heritage to be preserved, but a living matter, capable of opening itself to new possibilities without losing its own identity.
