Grammy Award-winning artist Cory Henry has made a significant mark on the music industry, recently winning the “Best Roots Gospel Album” award at the 2025 GRAMMYs for his deeply personal and autobiographical project, “Church”. The album includes contributions from his family, including his grandmother, and reflects the rich musical heritage that shaped his artistry and resonated with audiences worldwide. Alongside the release of the award-winning album, PBS aired a documentary on his life and the making of *Church*, offering an intimate look at his journey and creative process.

Among Henry’s numerous accolades is a Grammy for his collaboration with acclaimed Spanish artist Rosalía in 2023, as well as another Grammy for his contribution to Kanye West’s groundbreaking album, “Donda”. His versatility as a musician has led him to collaborate with a wide range of artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Imagine Dragons, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, and many others.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Cory was a key member of the supergroup Snarky Puppy before embarking on a solo career in 2018 with his debut album, “Art of Love“. His second project, “Something to Say“, was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Progressive R&B Album” in 2022, highlighting his artistic growth. He then released “Operation Funk” in 2023, while his live album “Live at the Piano” received a nomination in 2024.

In 2024, while touring with the legendary Stevie Wonder, Henry took the opportunity to record a Christmas album titled “A Wonderful Holiday” during his days off, collaborating with members of Wonder’s band. The project showcases his ability to blend different styles, further emphasizing his musical versatility. That same year, Cory also made a memorable appearance as a special guest with Jon Batiste at Coachella 2024. Additionally, Cory Henry appeared in the 2024 film “Saturday Night” and the 2023 Little Richard documentary “I Am Everything“, further expanding his role in both the music and film worlds.

Henry currently leads his band, “The Funk Apostles“, with whom he captivates audiences worldwide through electrifying performances.
