Nicola Agus

The musician Nicola Agus (born 1982) is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and researcher, holding a degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Cagliari. His work combines sound experimentation, instrument construction, and material research, creating a language that interweaves tradition and innovation.

At the heart of his work lies the exploration of sound as a primordial experience: Agus reinterprets instruments from various cultures and creates new ones, often using reclaimed materials or natural elements, transforming common objects into musical devices.

Among his most significant projects is Ombre di plastica (Shadows of Plastic), a performance in which recycled materials are transformed into musical instruments, giving shape to an artistic reflection on the relationship between environment and creativity. This journey also includes the creation of electronic launeddas, an original synthesis between Sardinian tradition and contemporary research.

Alongside his artistic activity, he composes soundtracks for documentaries and television productions, collaborating with RAI and local broadcasters.
