Simona Molinari is a pop jazz singer-songwriter with seven albums to her name and a career marked by prestigious international collaborations, including Al Jarreau, Gilberto Gil, Peter Cincotti, Andrea Bocelli, Ornella Vanoni, Renzo Arbore, Massimo Ranieri, and Raphael Gualazzi. She has performed on some of the world’s most important stages, such as the Blue Note in New York and Tokyo and the Estrada Theatre in Moscow, as well as numerous international clubs and theaters.
She competed at the Sanremo Festival with the songs “Egocentrica” and “La Felicità,” returning on two other occasions as a guest. In 2019, she made her acting debut in the film “C’è Tempo” by Walter Veltroni, also contributing several tracks to the soundtrack.
In 2022, she was awarded the Targa Tenco as Best Performer for the album “Petali,” marking a moment of profound personal and artistic evolution that brought her back to the scene in a more intimate and liberated dimension.
In November 2023, she released “Hasta Siempre Mercedes,” a project dedicated to Mercedes Sosa, an iconic figure of Latin American music and civil engagement. Also inspired by the theatrical work “El Pelusa y La Negra,” in which she stars, the album features eleven tracks that weave together reinterpretations of Sosa’s repertoire—including “Todo cambia,” “Gracias a la vida,” and “Solo le pido a Dios”—with Argentine classics such as “Volver” and “El dia que me quieras,” alongside Neapolitan influences like “Caruso.” The work is enriched by collaborations with Tosca and Paolo Fresu and an original song by Bungaro, “Nu fil’ e voce.”
This project earned her a second Targa Tenco in 2024, as Best Performer Album, presented during the Sanremo ceremony.
Among her most recent works, Simona Molinari wrote and performed the song “Swing a Roselle,” featured in the closing credits of the film “Romeo è Giulietta” by Giovanni Veronesi.
