Daoud is one of the most unconventional voices in contemporary jazz. Dubbed the enfant terrible of jazz, he rejects the genre’s rules and pursues a deeply personal musical path, driven by a sense of inadequacy that becomes creative impulse and a desire to challenge convention, without seeking approval.
His music is crossed by tensions and contrasts: play and gravity, chaos and tenderness, irony and sincerity. This approach is also reflected in his visual universe, raw and provocative, where a return to childhood becomes a tool for exploring contradictions, embracing fragility, impermanence, and satire.
In 2024 he released GOOD BOY, warmly received by critics, and has since performed with his band in a series of sold-out concerts and major performances, from Ronnie Scott’s in London to the Montreux Jazz Festival, with a stop in Marciac.
With OK, an album released by ACT in 2025, Daoud puts forward a personal manifesto reflecting on collapse, repetition, and the perseverance needed to start again. Alongside this, he composes and produces music for other artists, pursuing an increasingly free and uncompromising vision.
